Flipped Chili-lime Snack Mix

Since posting my Flipped Seasoned Pretzels I have had so many requests for another healthy, low-point snack that I had to flip this one for you!

A handful of my Flipped Chili-lime Snack Mix is layered with a variety of crunchy flavors—minus a few things from the original recipe—like a stick of butter!  It's super easy to make:

I started with two bags of Gourmet Blend Chex Mix (featured in the Flip2Tasty Store) and kicked it up with my Homemade Chili Seasoning Blend.  For those of you interested, I hear my chili blend recently won first place in a chili cook-off and was voted Children's favorite.  Pretty neat, huh?

My Flipped Chili-lime Snack Mix proves that something healthy can still taste great! Give it try and be sure to let me know what you think.  As always, enjoy.

Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 oz) Fat-free Italian Dressing

  • 3 Tbsp Flip2Tasty Homemade Chili Seasoning Blend, (I always have a batch on hand!)
  • 1 Tbsp Canola Oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Salt
  • 1 tsp dried Cilantro
  • Hot Sauce, (optional)
  • 2 (8.75 oz) bags Chex Mix; I used Gourmet Blend Italian Herb and Parmesan—less fat!  (Featured in the Flip2Tasty Store)
Directions:
  1. In a large bowl, combine Italian dressing, lime juice, chili seasoning, canola oil, garlic powder, garlic salt and cilantro.  Whisk together.
  2. Add Chex Mix.  Fold Chex Mix until coated with mixture.
  3. Bake at 200 degrees for 1 hour. Stir. Bake approximately 1 more hour.
  4. Remove from oven.  Separate mix as it cools.  (Mix will dry as it cools)
