Ingredients
- 1lb extra lean Ground Beef
- 1-1 ½ tsp Hot Sauce
- ½ tbsp Honey
- 1tsp. Garlic Salt
- 1 tsp Smoked Black Pepper (I use McCormick Smokehouse…awesome!)
- 4 wedges pepper cheese (I use The Laughing Cow…crazy good!)
- 4 slices Smoked Bacon, fried
- 4 light Hamburger Buns, toasted (I use 80 calorie Sara Lee wheat…worth it!)
- 1 large Onion
Directions
- Start your crispy onions (see below) while completing steps 2-5.
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, hot sauce, honey, garlic salt and pepper.
- Divide mixture into 4 equal portions. Mold each portion around a cheese wedge, to form a patty.
- Cook in a preheated skillet or grill top over medium-high heat approximately 6-8 minutes, or until your desired temperature is reached. Remember, this is extra lean beef, so be careful not to overcook it--you want to maintain that juicy flavor!
- Place patty on toasted bun. Top with one slice of bacon and crispy onions.
Wah-lah! Crispy onions without deep frying!

ReplyDeleteWow I didn't know you could do that to make crispy onions! Is there a way to make healthy fries too?
ReplyDeleteHaven't thought about how to "flip" fries before, Yoshi, but I will certainly put that on the list of future posts for Flip2Tasty! However, I do have a mean recipe for healthy onion rings. Email me at terri@flip2tasty.com if you are interested.
